credits.

Alhamdulillah.
Everything ran smoothly as planned.
It's not easy planning your wedding on your own you know.
Coming from a small family, I had a handful of people to help out the night before.
Lene, Marc, Akey, Sal and Linn, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. :)

The whole occasion was not an extravagant one, but I am happy with how it went. :)
Ok, while Mr Sunshine is out for Friday prayers I shall try to summarize who and who were responsible for what. Hehe.

Firstly, both my baju kurung for my akad nikah and my reception dress were from First Impression, Jalan TAR. The place is just opposite SOGO. You would not miss it. I highly recommend this place if any of you have been looking for THE dress, whether you want to rent or buy it. I had mine tailored the way I wanted it, simple sahaja. Hee. If you choose to rent the dress like I did, it will come with the accessories and custom made shoes. :)

Just to let you see how my dress looked like sans hand bouquet. :p

 The trail.

The veil, cantik tak ? :D

My hantaran.
Everything was decorated by Sal. On her own. :)

Makeup.
I think I looked a bit orangey on my akad nikah. But overall, I think Lya did a fantastic job judging from the good comments I received from all of you. Hehe.
Give her a call you guys, she won't disappoint.
See photos above for proof. :D

Food.
I received a number of comments about the food being delicious !
I could not agree more, even though we only had like a couple of spoonfuls during the night. Food was provided by Mutiara Catering.
I took the package which included food (both for guests and us), tables, chairs and table sheets, the deco for the meja pengantin, and a three tiered cake ! Everything was definitely worth it. :)

The meja pengantin.

The cake.

My pelamin (and bantal nikah) was from Weddings Galore. It was a pleasure working with Julie. And I think my pelamin was lovely ! Haha biarlah perasan pun. :p

Wedding cards were from Kanda Dinda. :)

I gave out chocolate muffins as my doorgifts. All ordered from Camomile Taste.
My hantaran cake was from here as well. :)

I hope I did not leave anything out.
I need to go take a shower now. :p
Bye !

uno.

*updated at 2:19 pm

Good morning.
I'm home at last, Alhamdulillah.
And tomorrow is THE day, InshaAllah.

Daddy, Marc and I left KLIA at about half past five yesterday to head to Kajang to get the bantal nikah.
I was a bit disappointed in the state of it, there were a few stains here and there. But since there's barely any time left to do anything about it, I have no choice but to just use it. :(

Then we headed to Jusco for dinner and to get the chocolates and fruits for my hantaran and eggs for the bunga pahar. I know it will probably be cheaper if I got eggs from the market down here but it's okay.
By the time we got back it was already almost 11 pm and as soon as I stepped in the house, I felt so depressed.
Suddenly I felt as if there's so much more things to do and I will not be capable of handling them. *nangis*
I tried on the baju kurung for nikah with the hijab and hated how the whole outfit looked like on me. *nangis*
I even had the feeling that I don't like my red wedding dress anymore !
Negative thoughts started to run through my head.
It was as if EVERYTHING was WRONG !
My nose was irritating and my throat was not helping either.
Mr Sunshine was busy and I felt alone. And depressed.
I texted the sister and whined about the house and my outfits.
She assured me over and over again, that it was just the nerves getting to me and that I should get some rest.
And so I did just that.
I woke up today not feeling so bad. Hehe. (Also because when I got downstairs, the stove was cleaned and there were no more plastic bags all over, thanks to the brother)
So probably I was just an exhausted and sick bride to be last night. *blushes*
There are still remnants of negativity in me but I need to pull myself together and remind myself of what's important.
The akad nikah and the life after marriage that Mr Sunshine and I are gonna build together.
So it does not really matter if I look ugly and fat in both my nikah and reception outfits.
And I will have time to finish whatever's still undone. InshaAllah. :)

First thing to do this morning is cut my nails.
After that, go get my wedding dress. The dress was a bit loose in the hip area. Woot !
Then, replace the curtains and cushion covers.
Then, sweep and mop the house.
Then, prepare cash for the vendors tomorrow.
Then, print the signage and pass them to the brother.
Then, think of where and how I'm gonna get my hand bouquets. Arrgh. The person at the boutique where I am renting my reception dress included one hand bouquet for me. Alhamdulillah. :) Hand bouquet for nikah left !
Then, wait for Sal to come over and check on the hantaran.
Then, paste thank you stickers on the muffins which are scheduled to arrive tonight.
Then, boil the eggs and put them in their nets. and arrange them on the pahar. Sal's parents offered to do this ! May Allah bless them. I'm so touched I want to cry.
Then, put inai on my fingers and toes. (I hope they turn out ok)
And finally after all that, get my beauty sleep.

i've been sick.

THREE more days away. InshaAllah.
OMG.

I have not been too well for the past two days.
I was down with on and off fever, a terrible sore throat and runny nose.
I went to bed shivering even when the fan was turned off last night.
But, I am slowly recovering now. Alhamdulillah.
I don't wanna be a sick bride. :(

My emotions are still all over, I would breakdown and cry over nothing these days. :'(
I have listed what's left to do when I get back but I get so, so worried about leaving anything out.
Sigh.

Mr Sunshine is on leave starting tomorrow, so he is on his way back to his hometown now.
His family and him will be traveling to KL this Friday evening, InshaAllah.
Semoga selamat semuanya, Ameen.

As for me, (and as mentioned in one of my previous posts), I will heading back home tomorrow evening, InshaAllah. I took the evening off tomorrow, but my boss was kind enough to let me leave work before lunch time so that I can do some last minute packing and checking on the things that I need to bring back.
Am gonna start packing tonight.

I am not sure whether I'd be able to update this little space after this, wish me luck and pray for me ya.
Bye !

2010.

Hello 2010. :)

With less a week and a day left (InshaAllah), and with me being so far, all I can do is hope and pray.
And list down last minute ideas and things to do.

I recently emailed the person who will be responsible for my hair and makeup on that day.
I told her I did not want my hair up in a bun. I do not want to already round face to look even rounder. :p
Plus, how can you not want to look like these beauties....

I will already be wearing a veil, would it look to crowded with added flowers ?

 Sigh.

 Simple yet beautiful !

My favourite !

Pictures credit to Google. :)

As my akad is scheduled to start around 10 am, the makeup session would start around 7 am. Argghh, so early !
As for the reception, she told me that she will have to start on me by 4 pm, as she needs to work on my hair too. That's almost four hours !
Well, anything to look good on that day, eh ? :)

As I am typing this, Sal is in KL shopping for my hantaran deco. I'm trusting her with everything !
I have even asked her to make my hand bouquets for me. Haha.

I have bought flight tickets to go back on Thursday evening. Yes, that would leave me with only ONE day before it all takes place. As crazy as it may sound, there's really nothing much I can do about it. I'm hoping I will manage to get everything ready within 24 hours.

I am planning to get our bantal nikah that Thursday evening itself, as soon as I arrive in KL.
I am still contemplating on whether I should put on the henna two nights before or just the night before ? A friend of mine suggested that I use henna from Mekah (inai Mekah), which she will be bringing to work for me. It lasts longer than the usual tube ones. I have those tube ones though as I thought I will apply that over the first layer of inai Mekah to darken the colour.
The thing is, I will be heading to Jalan TAR on Friday morning (InshaAllah) to get my wedding dress, so if I am feeling a little bit embarassed to go out with my fingers coloured when I have not officially tied the knot yet. How eh ?

On that Friday, I also have to get the eggs for the bunga pahar, chocolates and fruits for the hantaran.

How long do boiled eggs last ? Can I boil them the night before ?
Sorry, I honestly do not know the answer to that question. Sobs.
HELP !!

I am obviously freaking out now.

I need to relax.
I need to relax.

xoxo,
Melissa R.
